How the math works

A quarter note lasts sixty thousand divided by BPM in milliseconds. Every other note value is just that base time multiplied by its musical ratio, then converted to samples if your device or DAW needs sample counts instead of milliseconds.

When you would use it

  • Set a quarter-note delay without guessing plugin sync values.
  • Copy an eighth-note triplet into a hardware delay that only accepts milliseconds.
  • Convert a long feedback delay into samples for a modular or DAW device.
